Logistics Coordinator (Maternity Contract)

The role
If you have a track record in logistics in a customer facing role, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience with an expanding science-based SME with a bright future.
 
We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to work closely with other members of the Operations and Logistics team on delivering kits to over 80 countries and the return of samples using complex licensing and import procedures.
  • Coordinate the sending of kits/collection of samples in line with KPI’s.
  • Prepare paperwork including shipping documentation, commercial invoices & import / export documentation.
  • Ensure all permits/licences are in place.
  • Upload data to our ERP system.
  • Book all shipments using the most cost & time effective method at the time.
  • Monitor & advise on packaging/shipping requirements.
  • Monitor the customer support desk for incoming logistics requests.
  • Manage stakeholder communications.
  • Support customers to ensure precise & timely shipping arrangements.
  • Prepare data & reports for management meetings.  

About you
  • Minimum HND / BTEC in a business subject.
  • A detailed knowledge of import / export processes, customs processes & raising clearance documentation.
  • Proven track record in a logistics role with customer facing experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task & work to deadlines.
  • Organised & eye for detail.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You may occasionally be required to work flexibly as required due to the nature of the role, dealing with global stakeholders.
 
Desirable Skills
  • Experience of working with materials that are affected by the Nagoya protocol & the appropriate shipment of biological / regulated material.
  • Experience of process improvement & automation of logistics processes.
  • An interest in biodiversity, nature & environmental concerns.
